Pumpkins scream in the dead of night

Even though Halloween is my second favorite holiday (behind Christmas), I haven't carved a pumpkin since the last Halloween I spent living with my kids six years ago. The reason is that I'm never home on the night of Halloween, and jack 'o lanterns seem like something you only do if you're going to be handing out candy.

Well, this year is different. I couldn't resist picking up a couple of pumpkins to carve last night with a friend of mine. However, I need some help deciding whose pumpkin turned out better.

Pumpkin A:

Pumpkin B:

Bragging rights are on the line.

Sorry, they are both good... you little Martha Stewart, you.

I'd go with Pumpkin A, for some reason Pumpkin B was out of proportion at points. They both look great though, but A looks better to me...in my humble opinion.

I think they are both awesome. I am not going to decide if I am carving a pumpkin or not until Halloween.

I like B more details...

Holy moly!
I agree with the sharper teeth idea (so my choice is A) but they're both good.
Geeze... if only my mom would have allowed me to celebrate like a normal person... my artistic skills could have been put to better use... like pumpkin carving.

Scott says they are both cool.

I think they are both awesome, but I'm going to go with A

So which was yours? Or do we only get to find out after the voting is over?

I'll let you know when the voting is over. There's a way you could tell now, but only if you're very very observant.

i'm guessing B is yours...
therefore I vote for A :P

course I think they're both traced ("This guy's a tracer!") but thats because all I can carve is the standard jack-o-lantern and none of this fancy schtuff and therefore am jealous...

In-yo-face, Sucker! ;)

A is way better! (Even if it does need a bigger tooth and has somehow disappeared form your blog...a little bit of jealousy I presume…?)

Okay, I'm putting my answer before I read what everyone else said. I like both alot, but I really like the vampire theme. :)

Ok, so now I have to eat my words. Everybody clearly likes my friend's pumpkin much better than mine (mine was pumpkin b). In defense of pumpkin a, the tooth was bigger when it was initially carved. I didn't take the picture until the next day when it shrunk because of water loss.

Although, Ver Girl, you were correct in your assumption that both were traced. The rest of you don't act so surprised by that revelation. I mean, come on, you know I'm not that creative.

JG, you get bragging rights for an entire year. But, I still maintain that mine was more difficult to carve.

I definitely think B looked more difficult, but the vampire one I have never seen anything like.

Pumpkin B wins due to the difficulty level...very intricate...unless of course he/she used toothpicks, which I consider cheating... :)

Oh...I guess B didn't win, but it should have...

As for bragging rights---IO think you both have the right to brag all you want---they were awesome.

actually, yes, when inspected closer (and once you get over the whole "Wow... that vampire one was a good idea!"), it's obvious that B was more difficult to carve.
Kudos to B.

I promise I didn't see this before I carved my pumpkin. I know that the fact that we carved the same pumpkin is not a coincidence because you know how I feel about coincidences. God has chosen this path for us. Obey.

My vote is for pumpkin A.

I would give B the award for technical difficulty, but I really like A, just because I've not seen that on a jack o'lantern before.

Well done to you both, even if they were both traced. That's still some fancy knife-wielding!
