You are not easily swayed if swayed means moved

Oh. Hi there. Remember me? I'm the guy who never posts on his blog anymore. But if you can find it within yourself to forgive me, I have a perfectly good explanation. I've been busy trying to enjoy summer. See?

It all started with my boss asking me to go on a collecting trip. Five days through some gorgeous areas: Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Well, they're all gorgeous except for Wyoming. The only good part of Wyoming is the Grand Tetons:

And Yellowstone National Park:

The rest of Wyoming is pretty desolate. Here's a picture I took of Wyoming's most populated area:

Colorado was pretty cool, except for the suicidal deer we encountered.

I have a picture of the deer too, but won't make you sad by posting it. Luckily, the car was still drivable and we were able to finish the trip. We even made it until the last night before getting pulled over for missing a headlight. The cop let us off with a warning, but then, ten minutes later, we got pulled over again. The second cop just laughed at us, told us we had two more speed traps to make it through, so to drive slowly through town, but then to run like hell once we made it past those. He was alright.

Sure, I've been back for over a week now, but I've been doing some other things. Like going on hikes to mountain lakes:

And waterfalls:

It's all part of my master plan to actually start enjoying my life again. It's sort of working.

We gonna crash into the sun

Lately I've been getting a lot more sun than normal. I also haven't been as good about putting on sun block as I normally am. I didn't think it was anything to be concerned about because I haven't been getting sunburned. However, today I looked at my arm and noticed several new freckles. I instantly doubted my cavalier attitude toward sunblock application. After all, isn't the appearance of new spots on your skin one of the first signs of melanoma?

Upon further inspection (read: I licked my finger and rubbed the spots), I realized they were not freckles at all, but soy sauce that apparently splashed on my arm when I dropped my nigiri at lunch today.

Whew! Crisis averted.

So I'm drinkin' drinkin' drinkin' drinkin' Coca Coca Cola

I celebrated Independence Day by writing a final exam. I'm not sure this one's hard enough to make people cry, but we'll see. Around lunch time my friend sent me a text message asking if I wanted to join him for lunch. I said yes, and we met up at a deli we frequent.

Usually I try to go with the healthier choices on the menu, but since it was a holiday and all, I figured I'd get something different: a pulled pork sandwich.

Friend: Wow. That's not something you'd normally get.
Me: I know, but I saw someone with it the last time we came here and I thought it looked good.
Friend: It does look good, but it's not very healthy.
Me: Well, it is the 4th of July. I'm celebrating America by celebrating obesity.

Everybody dance now

Here you can see some awesome dance moves by my youngest. This is before the "fun factory" incident.

Sorry about there not being any sound. Apparently I am retarded when it comes to running my camera. Just pretend that you can hear some 80's music playing in the background. Any 80's music will do.

You've got a great car, yeah what's wrong with it today? I used to have one too

Saturday I was fortunate enough to be invited to the European style pool at the Wynn Resort and Casino. In other words, a top optional pool. Top. Optional. Two words that made my entire weekend. It was so nice to finally be in a place where I could take my top off without feeling objectified. It almost makes up for the fact that my car broke down a few hours later (and now I have to decide between paying as much as the car itself is worth to have it fixed, or buying a different one). Almost.

Sunny Day

On the way to lunch we walked past a broken sprinkler head that was shooting water up into the air. I looked around and said "I'm waiting for all the neighborhood kids to show up and have a block party."

One of my friends said, "Personally, I'd hope for some hot chicks in bikinis, but whatever your preference is, I'm cool with that."

Summertime

If you stuck a dime in my navel it would stick, know why? 'Cause I'm sweeeaaatttty.

It's the first week of May, and it's already 95 degrees outside. I can't wait for summer to finally get here.
