Starlet and Ryan, comps are hell. Plain and simple. It's the comprehensive examination for getting a Ph D where you stand in a room with your committee members and answer questions for 2 1/2 hours or so about what ever they feel like asking you. It sucks, but I'm done. Now, instead of just being a Ph D student, I am a Ph D candidate. It doesn't really change anything other than the fact that I don't have to worry about failing out of the program I'm enrolled in.
I'm so happy for you!!! One more thing in your accomplished file. I admire you a lot, you have worked hard and spent a lot of time in your field. You will be an awesome PhD!!!
