I'm not tryin' to to to make a scene for you you you

After we went shoe shopping the other day, my friend and I went to a basketball game (I was able to convince her to go with the promise that if she did I'd help her clean her house for an hour after the game). Our team won. It was a blowout.

We sat by a little Asian boy (2-3 years old) and his father. The little boy was so cute. He sat still throughout the game. He watched the players. He watched the crowd. He'd clap when the rest of the crowd clapped. At one point he turned to my friend and said, "I have gum."

After a while I turned to my friend and said, "I want a young Asian boy."

She looked at me.

I quickly followed that up with, "Wait! That didn't come out right!"

Pissing myself laughing at Boxer...LMFAO....

No seriously, do you have something you would like to share with us? Either Boxer is right or you have some serious lust going on for your "friend/sister".

Boxer is right.

You wanna know how I know you're gay?

I don't know why everyone suspects you of being queer.

That's one of those statements that sounds far worse when said aloud than in your head, where a filter should catch it.

I see so many little boys I want to marry
I see plenty little kids I've yet to have
Even when the moon goes out
Even when the sea dries out
I still see so many little boys I want to marry
I see plenty little kids I've yet to have now
Even when the sea's all free
And everything's lying on me
Even when the sun ceases to shine
I won't care, I'll still have on my mind
So many little boys I want to marry yeah yeah
I see plenty little kids I've yet to have

And in the shower I get my breathing done
I hold my breath and I wait for the day to come
Oh little Billy, little Timmy, little Jimmy, you're the one
I may not look it, but I swear my heart is young for so many..
Little boys I want to marry

I suppose I should explain a few things. The only way that I could have a thing for my friend is if she wasn't married to one of my best friends.

The "sister" part comes from a road trip we took to the Grand Canyon. She and I had similar upbringings, so we understand each other's thought process, and get a lot of each other's jokes without additional explanation. My friend and his nephew were in the front, and our constant laughing probably drove them nuts. Later, he was explaining to someone that she and I might as well be siblings, but he slipped up and said sisters instead, because that's all she has. Ever since then, I've been her "sister".

The shoe shopping I can't explain. It's just something that needs to be done occasionally. She helped me pick out some shoes, and I helped her pick out some shoes. It works well that way.

The cleaning house part was just so I could go to a ballgame without having to go by myself (since I was running late, I didn't feel like I could call my lab mate).

And is it just me, or is D. Banhart's comment way too creepy?

you must not be into the freak-folk scene.

Native Minnow said...

No. Is that a band? I'm assuming those were lyrics, and maybe if I heard them in context that would take the creepiness out of things.

I was going to guest blog the whole sister thing for you, but it looks like you took care of it.

And that little boy was ADORABLE. I should make one ;)

.............And have him stay away from Uncle Minnow

Teresa, good call.

D. Banhart, I googled you, and apologize for my naivete. I like the comparisons people have made about freak-fold scene's music, so I will be checking it out.
