I appreciate Seinfeld more now than I did before it went off the air. Maybe it's because I'm older? Maybe it's because I see a lot of my personality in George's personality. That guy is shameless. And I like it.
My ten year old nephew thinks it's funny, but I didn't "get" it at first either. Of course, I am surprised at how many Seinfeld references I can make in a week.
I'll be honest that when it was on, some of the boys that I couldn't stand at all thought it was funny, so I didn't give it a chance. I didn't fully appreciate it, until i started watching it as re-runs. It's a lot of fun to quote, and I like to think that I'm intelligent. :)

1) The reason Seinfeld wasn't cancelled when it's ratings were low was because the demographic profile of it's limited viewership was upscale and well educated.
2) During the long stretch that Seinfeld had high-ratings, it's viewership among Obamanation Core Voters was dismal. UPN's entire line-up was more popular.
3) A large part of the audience stopped viewing when Jerry Seinfeld did his short monologue at the end of the show. So, they stopped ending the show that way after reading the study.

I loved Seinfeld and his observations on the inane little things we all do every day without even realising why.

I've never thought of Seinfeld as dry. I thought it was blatantly ridiculous and overdramatic. And hilarious.
The main reason people don't think it's funny now is that they have all of the jokes memorized.
