Highway to the danger zone

As part of my ongoing medical treatment for my back injury, I had to get another MRI done this week. This time the doctor wanted it done with contrast. That's where they take images before and after injecting a contrasting agent so they can look at scar tissue too. It should give the doctor a better idea of what we're dealing with here.

The best part about getting an MRI with contrast done? Being able to go around for the rest of the day saying, "I've got gadolinium running through my veins."

Tell me that doesn't make a guy sound tough.

Well I certainly worship at your altar now....LMAO. I've never had an MRI with contrast before.....sounds like it makes a fun experience even more so :)

I agree with upset waitress.

It also brings to mind james Gandolfini for some reason...

It sounds so science fiction...like Dune or something.

Gypsy, luckily I'm not claustrophobic, so an MRI isn't a big deal.

Waitress, a tough flower though.

Anomalie, It's because Tony Soprano's so tough.

Manuel, sometimes I wonder if I am the sort ;-)

Delirious, I know. It's much better than manganese.

I always ask for a blindfold when I have my annual MRI. That way I can't see the teeny, tiny tunnel I am forced to lay in for over an hour.

just like manuel says....

one of my kids in my class had to have that stuff done, and he freaked out so bad he cried and then wet his pants.

so i think it's pretty tough.

I had to drink barium once, so I'm tougher than you.

A tough flower like a rose. Roses have pricks.

So you had the injection---what were the results????????

Steph, again, I'm not claustrophobic, so it doesn't bother me. I can see how it could be traumatic for others though. Tight spaces, loud noises, you can't move without screwing everything up. I just go to sleep. Others probably aren't so lucky.

Silentkid, no doubt. The barium milkshake is supposed to be nasty. Was it hard to choke down?

Waitress, I have a prick too. Wow, I'm just like a rose.

Dee Ice Hole, I don't have the results yet, but it's not the steroid injection. That's not until next week. It's just a way for them to be able to look at scar tissue on the MRI films.
