Love me now while we're alive, it's the best thing we can do

Here's a song reminding you to live it up this weekend, because you never know when the Devil's going to come around to collect his debt. Enjoy!

**EDIT**
The mp3 player isn't working properly, so I'll just post the link for the download instead if you're interested in hearing the studio version.

Great Big Sea - Straight To Hell
Love me now while we're alive
It's the best thing we can do
We'll have no time upon cloud nine
So heaven on earth'll have to do
I can sing like a bird and dance like a demon
And I do it all so well
'Cause I made a deal with the Devil and when I die
I'm going straight to Hell

Standing at the crossroads
He offered wine, women and song
Riches, fame and fortune in my hands from that day on
I was granted there and then a life of rock and roll
And it seemed like such a bargain
For just one eternal soul
I know I'll curse this damn decision
And I'll regret it 'til the moment I fall
But I'll be makin' the most of a bad situation
Until my number's called

Love me now while we're alive
It's the best thing we can do
We'll have no time upon cloud nine
Heaven on earth'll have to do
I can sing like a bird and dance like a demon
and I do it all so well
'Cause I made a deal with the devil
and when I die I'm goin' straight to Hell
Oh yeah, I'm goin' straight to Hell

There's times I swear I've come out on top
In this ill conceived contract
And there's nights I say
"It's a small price to pay for the life and times I've had"
And I think "Here's to the gents and ladies
And all the foolish times we spent"
They cost me afterlife in paradise
And they were worth every single cent
So have a dance with the walking damned
Before my time is done
'Cause a deal is a deal
And I don't expect fire and brimstone will be much fun

Love me now while we're alive
It's the best thing we can do
We'll have no time upon cloud nine
Heaven on earth'll have to do
I can sing like a bird and dance like a demon
And I do it all so well
'Cause I made a deal with the devil and when I die
I'm goin' straight to Hell
Oh yeah, I'm going straight to Hell

I said straight to Hell
Go to Hell

I have every expectation
That my final prayer will go unheard
And my veiled deathbed confession
Will not move the Mighty Lord
And I'm sure that I'll be sorry
When He slams St. Peter's gate
But I'll dive right into damnation with a smile across my face.

If you love me now while we're alive
It's the best thing we can do
We'll have no time upon cloud nine
Heaven on earth'll have to do
I can sing like a bird and dance like a demon
And I do it all so well
'Cause I made a deal with the devil and when I die
I'm goin' straight to Hell
I made a deal with the devil and when I die
I'm goin' straight to Hell
Oh yeah
I'm goin' straight to Hell
Oh yeah
I'm goin' straight to Hell

I wasn't aware that I owed the Devil anything, but I'll keep that in mind.

I see your lyrics and raise you some Clutch:

The devil and me had a falling out.
Violation of contract beyond a shadow of a doubt.
Wherever he go, whomever he meet.
He got to cross my house on the other side of the street.
And you know that’s the truth. Now here’s the part that the devil sings while he’s
hanging his head in a hard rain:
Where I’m headed, I don’t know.
Down this path, we all go.
Grace and luck, blood from stone.
Got nowhere to call my home.
What comes around goes around three-fold or more.
Now you can’t get off of that killing floor.
I’m going back to Tennessee, back where I come from.
Gonna head back to Beale Street, Beale Street and Oblivion.
The devil and me, bad blood and beef.
An undisciplined child, a liar and a thief.
It’s a low down shame, we were the best of friends.
But I suppose all good things got to come to an end.
What comes around goes around three-fold or more.
Now you can’t get off of that killing floor.
I’m going back to Tennessee, back where I come from.
Gonna head back to Beale Street, Beale Street and Oblivion.
I’m going back to Tennessee, back where I come from.
Gonna head back to Beale Street, Beale Street and Oblivion.
Gotta get off of that killing floor.

there is still no better song about going to heel than the classic ac/dc highway to hell.

Oh yeah Steph Highway to Hell.

Nevertheless I loved these lyrics too. They spoke to me in a profound way (probably because I'm drunk). I know I'm going to hell and I'm kind of relieved that there will be a lot of folks I know there. I guess it's too late to get in good with the big guy now isn't it?

I told a friend once if she really wanted to know what her man was thinking, she should ask him to find the song that best fit his emotion/feeling at the time. I can pinpoint my Mister's feelings by what is blasting out the computer room at any moment.

Therefore... I'm kinda wondering what YOU'VE been up to recently.
