And on the cold wet dirt I cry

How long have I been limping around? Three months? Has it been that long already? Really? Then why do I still have people who come up to me and say, "What did you do?"

It's been three fucking months people. You see me several times a week. The next person to ask what I did is going to get a swift kick in the nuts.

Well, assuming that I can actually pull off a swift kick without falling into a crumpled heap of patheticness.

And assuming that the offending party is male and actually has nuts for me to kick swiftly.

Then it's time to get some different opinions about options - it's time to explore Western and EASTERN alternatives.

3 months is too long and you're too young.

Push your Doctors for answers.

and ... I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

In my defense, I haven't seen you for over three months. Do I still get kicked if I ask? I am assuming I know what it is, but I might have asked if I had seen you when you were around last week!!

Go ahead and kick me, I have ways of protecting myself.... and some of them are pretty cool. :)

Sorry, I hope you feel better. And NO driving if you are taking somas, hydrocodone, or Lortab. Wait at least 4 hours.... it is illegal and you are a DUI, even if it is prescribed. It causes impairment. Check our your pupils, if they are tiny.... wait a while!!! Good luck!!!

Hey, I haven't seen you in a while! And I've been reading your blog kind of spottily (I know, I'm terrible). But I did realize that you had done something when I saw you.

Besides, you can't kick me in the nuts because I don't have any.

Are you sure it is always "What did you do?" Cause I think sometimes it is "What is wrong with you?" And there are SOOOO many answers to that question.

But I totally agree you need to start exploring alternatives and push the doctors for more answers.

Hey, if you ever have too many soma's, I know a waitress who likes them.

What are you going to do to me if I ask? Never mind, I won't ask in case it's unpleasant.

I hear having someone walk on your back gets out some of the kinks and I would gladly offer my services because I LOVE walking all over men.

All joking aside I hope you find some answers soon Minnow. A bad back is no fun at all and you are WAY too young to be incapacitated my friend.

Obviously those of you who haven't seen me in a while (Elbee, Deputy Mom - besides, I'd hate to get pepper sprayed) or never have (Boxer, Gypsy) are exempt from the kick in the nuts. I'm talking more specifically about people who see me all the time, have had it explained to them multiple times, and still ask what I did every time I see them.

As for exploring other options, I don't know what else to do. I've had several doctors tell me there are only two options for this type of injury: Steroid injections and surgery. I'm trying to avoid surgery, so that leaves me with one. Physical therapy will only give temporary relief - like, maybe a couple hours - but lying down does the same thing so that's not really worth it. Seeing a chiropractor could also give some temporary relief, but that also comes with the risk of making it worse. Again, not really worth it. Acupuncture might help some with pain management, but it's not going to correct the root of the problem. Besides, I'm not sure I buy into that, which seems like a necessary thing for it to work well. If I'm missing something here let me know. Maybe I could discount that too ;-)

I do appreciate everyone's concern. Honestly, it's already feeling a lot better than it did last week when it flared up again. My doctor said that flare ups are going to happen, especially after sleeping several nights sleeping in strange beds (and couches) after making several long drives. Even knowing that, I'd still have done the same thing because I hadn't seen my kids in three months. That's too long.

Take some more percocet and if the offending party is female, kick her in the ovaries.
